St Joseph's Catholic and Church of England Primary School

With the Love of God we learn, grow and achieve.

A Warm Welcome

Our vision at St Joseph’s is to develop and support children in becoming life-long learners, by providing a safe and nurturing environment in which Christian values flourish.

Our children are given the opportunity to learn, grow and achieve in the knowledge and love of God.

“I give you a new commandment: love each other. You must love each other as I have loved you. All people will know that you are my followers if you love each other” John 13:34-35

Through the Christian Ethos, children are equipped with the skills to recognise, value and celebrate differences.

High expectations of the school community ensure children thrive, enabling them to reach their full potential. Children demonstrate God’s love as they become independent, confident happy learners who are curious and cherish the world in which they live.

"My name is Paula Lowry and it is my privilege to be the Headteacher at St Joseph's. I feel very lucky to work with our school community - developing relationships that support children in being well rounded individuals. Parents are a big part of our school family and we value the work they do and the time they give. Finally here at St Joseph's the staff are driven by making a real difference to children's lives and building trusting relationships."

We are delighted to welcome you to our school website and hope that you are able to get a flavour of some of the exciting things we do at this school. Please do not hesitate to contact the school office or the headteacher, Mrs Paula Lowry should you require additional information not available through the website.

Saint Joseph's Catholic and Church of England Primary is a good school. We are determined to achieve outstanding outcomes and experiences for all our pupils. Ours is a happy school where staff, pupils and the local community are rightly proud of our achievements. The curriculum is built around the needs and interests of the children and is one which recognises the importance of first hand experience and collaboration with other settings and schools. Positive relationships are central to the ethos of Saint Joseph's as well as our work within the local community. As a joint Catholic and Church of England school we work closely with our local clergy, churches and parishes. School is supported pastorally and spiritually by Father Adrian Arnold  from St Columba's and St John's and Father Adrian Thomlinson and Father Chris Ainslie from The Annunciation.

We hope that you feel welcome at our school and look forward to you being part of our school family.
