Overview

In EYFS the curriculum is taught in whole class groups, small guided groups and through continuous provision. The different areas of learning within the curriculum are taught as discrete areas of learning but are also incorporated within the theme and across continuous provision. In Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 each subject is taught as a discrete subject across a common theme. St Joseph's use schemes of work to support learning in some subjects, these are detailed below.

 

Science: No scheme of work is used. Planning focusses on Scientific Enquiry

History: No scheme of work is used. Planning focusses on Historical Enquiry

Geography: No scheme of work is used. Planning focusses on Scientific Enquiry

Computing: 'Barefoot' is used in EYFS and 'Teach Computing' in Key Stage 1 and 2. Online safety is taught through 'Project Evolve'. These materials support the delivery of the sequence and progession document.

PE: 'PE Hub'  is the scheme of work used to support in the delivery of PE,  alongside this St Joseph's have developed their own Sequence and Progression document whihc incorporates 'qualities'.

Art: 'Access Art'  is the scheme of work used to support in the delivery of Art.

Music: 'Charanga' is the scheme of work we use to plan Art

Modern Foreign Languages: 'Primary Languages Network' is the scheme of work we use to plan MfL, at St Joseph's we teacher French.

Maths: 'White Rose' is the scheme of work we use to support in the planning of Maths.

Phonics: 'Little Wandle' is the scheme of work we use to deliver phonics

Design and Technology: This subject area is still under development is the National Curriculum is used to guide teaching and learning.
