Prayer and Liturgy
Celebration of the Word at St Joseph's is a time where the whole school come together to share scripture, sing, pray, learn and reflect.
“The weekly schedule allows for consideration of the Sunday gospel, a focus on global perspectives, seasonal feasts within the liturgical year, classroom based prayer and celebration of achievements.”
Celebration of the Word, where scripture is at the heart, takes place at least twice per week. The whole school, from Reception to Year 6, gather in the hall with Mrs Lowry to reflect upon the Gospel reading for that week. The children also lead 'Let Us Pray Together' in their year groups
As well as Celebration of the Word children also gather in Key Stages and year groups throughout the week for assemblies to discuss themes that are affecting the world in which the children live.
The times that the children gather together are planned through the school's Annual Provision of Prayer.
